About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Technician to join a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing facility based in Western Sydney.

This permanent role is ideal for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who enjoys hands-on maintenance, fault finding and working with automated production and packaging equipment.

You will work closely with the maintenance and production teams to minimise downtime, improve equipment reliability and ensure machinery continues to operate safely and efficiently within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled preventative and planned maintenance on production and packaging equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across automated machinery
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime
- Maintain conveyors, mixers, filling machines, capping machines and labelling equipment
- Repair and replace pumps, valves, motors, bearings, gearboxes and mechanical components
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and commissioning
- Support continuous improvement projects to improve machine reliability and performance
- Complete maintenance records, work orders and CMMS documentation accurately
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, WHS and site procedures
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering and maintenance personnel

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter and Turner or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Technician




- Experience within pharmaceutical, food, beverage, FMCG, packaging or manufacturing environments
- Solid mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience maintaining automated production or packaging machinery
- Knowledge of conveyors, pumps, motors, bearings, valves and gearboxes
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals
- Experience completing preventative maintenance through a CMMS
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality and compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

Highly Regarded

- Experience maintaining high-speed packaging or filling lines
- Understanding of GMP, HACCP, ISO or TGA-regulated manufacturing
- Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment for basic fault identification
- Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge
- Experience within pharmaceutical or medical manufacturing
- Mandarin-speaking ability
