A leading global engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with solid industrial experience to join their specialist workshop team based in Eagle Farm, Queensland .

You’ll work alongside experienced tradespeople, using precision tools and workshop equipment to deliver high-quality solutions for major customers across Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for completing mechanical fitting, repair, machining, and assembly activities within a specialised workshop environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing mechanical fitting activities including disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of industrial equipment
- Completing precision fitting, alignment, and assembly of mechanical components
- Using workshop machinery including lathes, milling machines, and other mechanical equipment
- Machining, modifying, or fabricating components to meet required specifications and tolerances
- Conducting inspections to identify wear, damage, and repair requirements
- Completing bearing, shaft, coupling, sealing, and component fitting activities
- Performing minor welding and fabrication tasks where required
- Reading technical drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation
- Ensuring all required tools, materials, and components are available to complete workshop activities
- Completing job documentation, service reports, and quality records accurately
- Supporting fault finding, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A recognised Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner trade qualification
- Previous experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or heavy industry environment
- Strong mechanical fitting and assembly skills
- Experience using manual workshop machinery such as lathes and milling machines
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and work with tight tolerances
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A commitment to safe work practices and delivering quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a skilled workshop team
