We are expanding our Victorian team of assessors and seeking highly skilled professionals to undertake SBS assessments across Victoria. AKG Child and Family Services is a trusted provider of high-quality assessment services, partnering with government and non-government organisations to deliver timely, evidence-based reports that support children, young people, families and carers in out of home care.
About the Role
As an Independent Assessor, you will undertake comprehensive SBS assessments to a high professional standard. You will manage interviews, gather relevant information, analyse findings and prepare comprehensive high-quality reports within agreed timeframes.
About You
You will have:
- Degree qualification in Social Work (with eligibility in AASW), Psychology or another relevant discipline.
- Step by Step Accreditation VIC (2020)
- Demonstrated experience in child protection, out of home care, family services, court, clinical practice or assessment work
- Exceptional interviewing, analytical and report writing skills
- A sound understanding of the various legislation and standards, best practice and current research regarding trauma informed assessments
- Strong assessment skills (critical thinking, gathering / analysing / synthesising information)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience in working with Indigenous and CALD communities is desirable but not essential
- Understanding of the Child Safety Principles and commitment to child safety and wellbeing, including having an understanding of children's developmental needs and culturally safe practices
- Ability to obtain a police check and other background checks.
- ABN/Public liability and professional indemnity insurance (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check and valid driver's licence.
