The summer pool season is approaching fast and we are now accepting expressions of interest in Pool Lifeguard work at our pool facilities. Operating at several centres and locations across the state, we’re offering seasonal work opportunities for new and experienced Pool Lifeguards!
About the Job
As a Lifeguard with Victoria YMCA, you’ll help provide a safe swimming environment for all visitors! Duties of the role include:
- Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area
- Maintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems
- Ensuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practices
- Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipment
This is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $34.96 + Super & Y Advantages.
About You
We are seeking motivated and friendly Pool Lifeguards to come and join the team.
You will be patient, focused, and pro-active in keeping our pool-users informed and safe.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills,
a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of their communities.
Qualifications
- Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
