Distance Education (DE) Teacher – Subject Matter Expert

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is a not‑for‑profit organisation providing autism‑specific education.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are sought from qualified teachers for a Distance Education (DE) Teacher – Subject Matter Expert role for Semester 2, 2026.

This role supports the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑informed teaching and learning programs within a distance education environment, with a strong focus on student engagement, wellbeing, and progress.

What you will do

Aspect is a leader in education for children on the autism spectrum. Working at Aspect means you will be supported by a team of passionate professional educators. You will help create a learning environment that tailors to the individual needs of students through evidence informed best practice in autism. Class sizes are small and you always have the assistance of a dedicated teacher aide. You will work closely in a team that includes the student, family, teacher aide and other professionals such as our school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs. This wrap‑around multi‑disciplinary approach to support means that you will gain current skills and work experience that can help you reach your professional goals. The Distance Education program requires experience in working with Google classrooms or other online learning platforms.

What we are looking for

- TRB registration to teach in South Australia
- Special Education qualifications are preferred
- Willingness and capacity to teach outside of subject area
- The Distance Education program requires you to have experience working with Google Classrooms, M365 SharePoint and/or other online learning platforms
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with other intellectual disability (desirable)
- SA Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
- Depending on the school's location/requirements it may be essential to have a current driver's licence
- A Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence (desirable)
- You may be required to provide an international police clearance.

- Full‑time base salary of $88,161 - $127,186 p.a. (depending on qualifications, accreditation and relevant teaching experience) + superannuation, pro rata for part‑time employment, or casual loading as applicable
