Lead Student Wellbeing, Engagement and Success in the Senior Years
Cardijn College is seeking an outstanding educational leader to join the Marian Campus Leadership Team as Director of Students (Senior School – Years 11 & 12).
This significant leadership position is responsible for the pastoral care, wellbeing, engagement and holistic development of students in the senior years. Working closely with House Leaders, Homeroom Teachers, students and families, the successful applicant will lead initiatives that foster student growth, support academic achievement and create a positive and inclusive culture where every student can thrive.

About the Role
The Director of Students (Senior School) is a key member of the Marian Campus Leadership Team and works in partnership with the Deputy Head of Campus, House Leaders and Homeroom Teachers to support the wellbeing, pastoral care and academic progress of students in Years 11 and 12.
The role provides strategic leadership in student development, wellbeing, behaviour support, student leadership and case management. The successful applicant will lead initiatives that strengthen student engagement,
promote positive relationships and ensure students are supported to achieve success both during and beyond their time at Cardijn College.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
- Provide leadership of student wellbeing, pastoral care and engagement programs across Years 11 and 12.
- Lead and support a team of House Leaders in delivering high-quality pastoral care and student support.
- Work collaboratively with students, families, staff and external professionals to address wellbeing and behavioural concerns and develop appropriate support strategies.
- Coordinate major senior years events, student leadership initiatives and wellbeing programs.
- Oversee the Senior Student Leadership Program and student leadership election processes.
- Lead case management processes for students requiring additional support, ensuring appropriate interventions and follow-up occur.
- Collaborate with teaching, wellbeing and pathways staff to support student achievement and successful post-school transitions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of student wellbeing, behaviour management and pastoral care policies and procedures.
- Support the College's vision of creating a positive, inclusive and student-centred learning environment.
About You
You will be an experienced and relational educational leader who demonstrates:
- A passion for adolescent wellbeing,
student development and pastoral leadership.
- Proven leadership experience within a secondary school environment.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary wellbeing, behaviour support and restorative practices.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with students, families, staff and external agencies.
- The ability to lead and mentor staff while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and care.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and case management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to the Catholic ethos, mission and values of Cardijn College.
Essential Requirements
- Current Teacher Registration in South Australia.
- Accreditation (or eligibility for accreditation) to work in Catholic Education South Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in student wellbeing, pastoral care or educational leadership.
- A proven capacity to lead teams and influence positive outcomes for students.
- Commitment to maintaining all required child safety clearances and employment requirements.
