We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager (First Class Machinist) to join our team in a full-time, permanent position. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a qualified tradesperson who enjoys a mix of machining, production management and mentoring others.

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager (First Class Machinist) to join our team in a full-time, permanent position. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a qualified tradesperson who enjoys a mix of machining, production management and mentoring others.

About the Role

This is a varied position where you'll spend time on the tools while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of our machine shop. You'll work closely with management to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- CNC turning and manual machining

- CNC milling and general machining operations

- Programming and operating CNC machines (Siemens and Fanuc controllers preferred)





- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

- Quoting machining work

- Purchasing tooling and workshop consumables

- Maintaining tooling and workshop equipment

- Managing machining projects from start to finish

- Managing production workflow, job priorities and delivery timelines

- Supervising and supporting workshop staff

- Maintaining quality control standards

- Ensuring equipment is maintained and operating efficiently

- General workshop administration and documentation

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Trade qualification as a First Class Machinist

- Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience

- Strong CNC machining experience, particularly with Siemens and Fanuc controllers

- Experience with manual machining and milling

- Excellent ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

- The ability to work independently and lead by example

- A commitment to producing high-quality work

- Excellent communication and leadership skills

- A positive, reliable and proactive attitude

- Australian working rights

Previous experience in a workshop leadership, production management or coordination role will be highly regarded.
