Role Overview

The Senior Manager – Risk Policy & Strategy will shape and strengthen AP+'s enterprise risk framework, leading the development and continuous improvement of risk policies, standards and strategic initiatives. The role ensures alignment with business objectives and regulatory expectations, embeds a risk mindset across the organization, and partners with senior stakeholders to influence decision‑making and drive meaningful change.

Core Accountabilities

- Lead the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of AP+'s risk management strategy, framework, policies and standards.
- Develop risk appetite measures and supporting metrics, ensuring effective monitoring and reporting across the organisation.
- Design and deliver initiatives that strengthen risk culture, capability and organisational awareness through engagement, training and communications.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to provide expert advice on risk policy, governance and strategic risk initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops and collaborate with business leaders to embed risk management practices into everyday decision-making.
- Design and implement approaches to measure the effectiveness, adoption and continuous improvement of risk policies and frameworks.
- Drive the governance, consultation and approval process for enterprise risk policies and supporting documentation.
- Monitor emerging regulatory, industry and operational developments to keep the risk framework up‑to‑date with best practice.

Qualifications & Capabilities





- Significant experience developing and implementing enterprise risk frameworks, policies, standards and governance within a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience designing and embedding risk awareness, engagement and cultural uplift programmes across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles, regulatory expectations and contemporary governance frameworks.
- Ability to translate strategy into practical initiatives that improve organisational capability and strengthen risk maturity.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, influencing senior leaders and building alignment across the business.
- Solid analytical and problem‑solving capability, using data and insights to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Experience preparing high‑quality reports, strategic papers and recommendations for executive leadership and governance forums.
- Outstanding communication and facilitation skills, simplifying complex concepts and engaging both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- A collaborative leadership style, passionate about continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and building organisational capability.
