About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Officer to join our team on a part-time basis working 3.5 days per week. This roving position will work across our Independent Living Villas, ensuring a high standard of maintenance across units, grounds, and equipment. You will play a key role in supporting the safety, functionality, and comfort of our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the units, equipment, and grounds.

- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests in a timely manner.

- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

- Coordinate external contractors when required and ensure work is completed to agreed standards.

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and compliance checks.

- Support workplace health and safety by identifying and reporting hazards.

- Assist with preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and risks.

About you

You embody Catholic Homes values of love, hospitality, excellence and joy, and take pride in creating safe, welcoming and well-maintained environments that enable residents, visitors and team members to feel comfortable and supported.

In addition, you will have:

- Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, or trades role (aged care or healthcare facility experience highly regarded).

- Ability to carry out general repairs.

- Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents, staff, and contractors.

- Ability to prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.

- Current driver’s licence and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
