The Opportunity
St Joseph’s School Hectorville is seeking a dedicated and dynamic educator to join our Preschool teaching team for 18 months. Our Early Childhood Teachers in Preschool provide young children with a strong foundation for learning and development of their social and emotional skills in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework. If you are passionate about working with children in preschool and you hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, please apply.
- Monday, Tuesday and half day Wednesday
- 1.5 year contract from Week 3, Term 3, 2026 and 2027
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide different experiences and activities that develop social connections, cooperation and motor skills
- Promote language development through storytelling, song and informal discussions
- Modify the learning setting to support child development
About You
- Current Teacher Registration in South Australia & Bachelor or Master of Teaching in Early Childhood Education
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education and Care and the Early Years Learning Framework
- Demonstrated expertise in planning and implementing intentional, play-based learning experiences that cater for diverse developmental needs and interests.
- Ability to use a continuous cycle of observation and reflection to document children’s learning
- Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia Approach and the ability to bring its principles to life
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to teamwork as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with families, children and staff members
