Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Cantonese–English Medical Interpreters for a full-time, remote Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) position. This role supports medical appointments, consultations, and urgent healthcare interactions.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide accurate, impartial interpretation between Cantonese‑speaking patients and English‑speaking healthcare providers
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Apply strong knowledge of medical terminology and interpreter ethics
- Handle sensitive and urgent medical calls with professionalism
- Remain available during assigned shifts and participate in quality reviews or team check‑ins as required

Candidate Qualifications





- Native or near‑native fluency in Cantonese and English
- Minimum 1 year of skilled medical interpreting experience (OPI or VRI)
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ethics, and confidentiality standards
- High school diploma or equivalent (higher education preferred)
- Excellent listening, memory retention, and note‑taking skills
- Comfortable working remotely and managing varied call types
- Must successfully pass a language proficiency assessment and background check

Remote Work Requirements

- To Ensure Seamless Communication, You’ll Need:
- A quiet workspace , free from distractions
- USB wired headset and a plain white T‑shirt (required for video calls)
- Laptop or PC with:
- Intel Core i5 (8th generation or higher)
- High‑speed wired internet connection (minimum 20 Mbps download/ 10 Mbps upload)

- A solid grey background for video calls
