Royal Hobart Hospital's Radiation Oncology Department is looking for a talented and committed Radiation Oncologist to join our growing team. Ours is a collegial, high‑performing department delivering the full spectrum of contemporary radiation oncology to a diverse patient population across Tasmania. We work within a strong multidisciplinary framework, maintain active research and teaching programs in partnership with the University of Tasmania, and take genuine pride in the quality of care we provide. Competitive Salary and Allowances

- A total value package of up to $428,245* will be offered depending on experience. Value calculated for a full‑time Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 including on‑call at a ratio of 1:4 (excluding call‑back provisions).

The Role

- Provide a consultant role in Radiation Oncology Services.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients of the Royal Hobart Hospital in Radiation Oncology Services.
- Be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and to be actively involved in research.
- Undertake quality improvement activities.

Compensation Package

Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award: Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $222,789 through to Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $305,539 with further salary increments available. Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $309,222–$319,701 is subject to qualifying for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3, as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.

Allowances

- Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle (subject to working full‑time hours) OR allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $28,786 pro rata per annum.
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $17,483 pro rata per annum.
- On call allowance % of Base Salary.
- All other allowances as per current Award.
- When admitted to the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of base salary plus on‑call, pro rata,



may be paid from the PPS; if not admitted, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.

Employment Details

Permanent, full‑time day work (with on‑call), working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as you would like to join our team.

Essential Requirements

- Holds specialist registration; or
- Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) on the specialist pathway; or
- Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an IMG with a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality.
