As an Admissions Clerk, you'll be the first point of contact for many patients and their families, providing professional, compassionate service while ensuring accurate patient admissions and registration.

Where You'll Be Working
The John Hunter Hospital Admissions team supports patient admissions across the entire hospital, including the Emergency Department, planned surgery and inpatient services.
As part of a large and collaborative team, you'll work in a dynamic 24/7 environment within one of the state's leading tertiary referral hospitals.
You'll also be joining the team at an exciting time, with a move into a brand-new office as part of the John Hunter Hospital redevelopment and the opportunity to work within one of the largest Emergency Departments in New South Wales.
About The Role
Reporting to the Admissions Service Manager, you'll be responsible for accurately admitting patients presenting to the Emergency Department while delivering exceptional customer service during what can often be a stressful time.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include




Registering and admitting patients efficiently and accurately.Providing clear information to patients regarding admission and charging arrangements.Supporting the identification and capture of patient-based revenue.Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient flow.Delivering professional, compassionate service in a busy 24/7 environment.
About You
You'll be organised, proactive and able to remain calm under pressure while providing outstanding service to patients, families and colleagues.
You'll Bring
Excellent communication and customer service skills.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.The ability to prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.Confidence working independently while contributing to a supportive team.A commitment to accuracy, professionalism and patient-centred care.
Previous experience in hospital administration or admissions is highly regarded, but we're also looking for people with the right attitude who are eager to learn and grow.
