Here's What You'll Be Up To...
As a Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in safely transporting children attending our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) programs.
This includes school pick‐ups, drop‐offs, and excursions.
Working closely with educators, you will help ensure all children are accounted for, vehicles are safe and well‐maintained, and every journey is a positive experience.
These roles offer short, consistent daily shifts, making it ideal for someone seeking reliable casual work.
Key Responsibilities
Safely transport children between schools, OSHC centres, and excursions
Assist educators with supervision and sign‐in/out procedures
Maintain a clean, roadworthy vehicle and report maintenance issues
Adhere to road safety regulations and council policies
Communicate effectively with staff, families, and schools
Complete daily vehicle safety checks and transport logs
Respond calmly to emergencies or unexpected situations
Work Hours
Split shifts may be required (e.g. morning and afternoon school runs)
Occasional extended hours for excursions or special events
What are we looking for?
(Essential criteria)
Valid NSW Light Rigid Driver's Licence (LR)
Valid NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)




Robust understanding of road safety
Excellent time management and communication skills
Reliability and punctuality
Desirable criteria
Experience working with children or in OSHC/childcare settings
Understanding of child protection responsibilities

This position has been identified as a Child-Related position under Child Protection laws in NSW.
To be eligible to apply, you are required to provide Council with a valid Working with Children Check Number.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
Applicants must be either a Citizen or Permanent resident with the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this position.
