About the role
As a Registered Nurse with the Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service Community Intake Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, effective, and timely care across a high-demand mental health service.
You?
ll guide consumers with compassion and clarity, helping them navigate towards the most appropriate, person-centred treatment pathways.

As a GNMHS Intake Nurse your role will involve but is not limited to:
Work within an experienced mental health multidisciplinary team delivering assessment, treatment and referral for consumers accessing the Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service
Receive dedicated orientation and structured development in mental health care, team processes and specialised interventions
Be supported in morning huddles, daily multidisciplinary team reviews and afternoon handover meetings
Build your confidence in delivering dynamic person-centred, trauma-informed care
Build upon skills in therapeutic engagement, risk assessment, and recovery planning
Participate in clinical supervision and mentoring tailored to your learning needs
Enjoy working in both offices close to the beach, city centres and public transport
Where you'll be working
The Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service (GNMHS) provides intake, triage, assessment, consultation, acute care, community care coordination and rehabilitation to consumers and their families.
The GNMHS encompasses Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Raymond Terrace and Port Stephens Community Mental Health Sites.
The Intake team enjoy a positive and supportive team culture, located in both Newcastle and Charlestown with the option to base yourself at either.

Requirements
Registered Nurse with current authority to practice with AHPRA.
Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work.
Demonstrated previous experience in Mental Health Nursing or possess an interest and eagerness to learn and broaden their skills in this area.
