Restaurant Manager & Assistant Manager – Soon-to-Open New Restaurant, Burnside Village, Adelaide

A modern Chinese restaurant will soon be opening at Burnside Village, Adelaide, offering authentic and contemporary Chinese cuisine in a premium dining setting.
About the Roles
We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager and an Assistant Manager to join our soon-to-open current restaurant at Burnside Village.
These are hands-on leadership roles responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy, high-quality dining venue, from team coordination and customer experience through to budgeting and compliance, with the exciting opportunity to be part of the team from day one.
The Assistant Manager will also take ownership of the bar and beverage program.
What You'll Bring
Diploma in Hospitality or a related field (applicants without a formal qualification but with strong restaurant and hospitality management experience are also encouraged to apply)
Minimum three years' managerial experience in a hospitality environment (Restaurant Manager); supervisory or management experience in a restaurant or bar setting (Assistant Manager)
Restaurant pre-opening experience ideal but not necessary
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
Knowledge and understanding of Chinese cuisine
Customer service orientated with best-practice service standards
Sound understanding of budgeting and financial management within a hospitality establishment
Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred
For the Assistant Manager role, solid beverage and wine knowledge with bar management experience, an RSA certificate is essential
Must have the right to work in Australia
Key Responsibilities – Restaurant Manager
Plan, organise and prioritise day-to-day restaurant operations
Schedule staff work hours, manage rostering and control wage costs
Identify and estimate food, raw material and supply requirements, and oversee ordering
Monitor food preparation, presentation and cleaning standards
Inspect equipment and food deliveries for quality and safety
Evaluate health and safety practices against OHS standards
Process and analyse budgeting and financial information
Monitor and oversee purchasing, menus, staffing and payroll
Maintain strong working relationships with customers and staff
Assess the quality of food, service and job applicants during hiring
Organise special functions, events and private party bookings
Maintain accurate records across inventory, bookkeeping and occupational health practices
Key Responsibilities – Assistant Manager
Support the Restaurant Manager in daily operations and deputise in their absence
Oversee the bar operation, including service standards, presentation and workflow
Recruit, train and develop bartenders and bar staff
Manage beverage and wine stock, including ordering, stocktakes, storage and cost control
Develop and maintain the beverage menu, including wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic offerings, in consultation with management and suppliers
Build and maintain supplier relationships for beverage and wine
Ensure responsible service of alcohol and compliance with liquor licensing requirements
Assist with rostering, service coordination and front-of-house team supervision
