Located near Cloncurry in North West Queensland, Eloise Copper Mine is an established underground operation producing high-grade copper concentrate.
Together with the development of Jericho, Eloise forms an important part of AIC Mines' growth strategy.
This is an prospect to join a close-knit operational team focused on safety, teamwork, performance and continuous improvement.
About the position:
AIC Copper seeks an experienced mine surveyor to provide day-to-day survey services to enable mining operations to be conducted efficiently and safely.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, this position would suit an experienced and technically skilled candidate wanting to work in a small and friendly team workplace.
The core responsibilities of this position include:
Utilise survey equipment and survey best practices to generate accurate survey data in a timely manner
Install survey stations for directional control of mining
Carry out accurate mark-ups of all designs for horizontal and vertical development
Produce survey plans and memos as required to a high standard and in a timely manner
Carry out development pick-ups and maintain an accurate survey as-built models
Conduct CMS surveys as required and validate results
Complete end-of-month surveys (underground and surface)
Complete small scale aerial survey work across mining leases
Conduct surface set outs and pickups
Conduct other miscellaneous survey tasks as required
Maintain survey equipment to a high standard and ensure equipment is kept within required calibration and adjustment parameter
The role follows an 8/6 FIFO roster from Townsville or Brisbane with bus commuting options available for local candidates from Cloncurry and surrounding communities.
Onsite accommodation and meals are provided at the Eloise Copper Mine.
About You:
A tertiary degree in surveying, science, geomatics or similar
Considerable experience (minimum 3 years) in a mechanized hard-rock underground mine with exposure to sublevel caving and longhole open stoping mining methods
Excellent computer skills and a competent user of mining industry software such as GEOVIA Surpac and Pix4D Mapper
Working knowledge of Leica Survey Instruments (desirable)
Experience operating drones with RePL certification (desirable)
Excellent numeracy skills
Ability to work unsupervised as required
Capability to forward plan and prioritise multiple tasks
Manual QLD driver's license
Hold a high regard for safety by following safe working practices
Physically fit and able to pass medical assessment and police clearance
