We're looking for motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our dedicated team and play a vital role in protecting public health through education, compliance and proactive environmental health initiatives.
Working within our Environmental Health team, you'll undertake a diverse range of regulatory, advisory and educational activities while partnering with residents, businesses and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality environmental health outcomes.

Salary:$83,****** to $124,****** pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super
Employment Type:Permanent, Full Time
What You'll Be Doing
Conducting inspections, assessments and investigations across a variety of environmental health matters
Assessing development applications and processing environmental health applications
Delivering proactive environmental health programs, sampling and compliance activities
Providing professional advice to residents, businesses and internal stakeholders
Supporting enforcement activities, including investigations and legal proceedings where required
Mentoring the Environmental Health Assistant and contributing to continuous improvement across the team
Assisting the Senior Environmental Health Officer in delivering efficient and effective environmental health services
What We're Looking For
A current 'C' Class Driver's Licence
Qualifications recognised for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer in Western Australia
Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Person and Inspector under relevant legislation
Demonstrated experience in environmental health inspections, investigations and compliance activities
Sound knowledge of relevant environmental health legislation, including the Food Act ****, Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act **** and Environmental Protection Act ****
Strong communication, negotiation and report writing skills
The ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality customer service
Local Government experience, food safety auditing knowledge and previous mentoring experience will be highly regarded
