The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Planning and Stakeholder Engagement Officer to provide a critical role at Emergency Management Victoria.
About the Business Unit
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, is responsible for the overall coordination of the emergency management system in Victoria.
EMV drives the integration of policy, strategy, operational coordination, sector specific technology, and planning across Victoria's emergency management sector, contributing to safer, more resilient communities.
The Capability, Communications and Regional Operations (CCRO) division delivers critical programs and services for emergency management planning and risk, critical infrastructure resilience, regional preparedness, and communications.
The division delivers public information, community warnings and communications to educate and inform communities, before, during and after emergencies as well as emergency management programs and coordination of emergency management communications.
Capability and development in collaboration with the sector is led from this division including the coordination of the incident management training, exercising and accreditation system and management of the Victorian Emergency Management Institute.
The division also coordinates and delivers capability across Victoria's 26 Volunteer Marine Search and Rescue units and manages the state's Road Crash Rescue and Aviation arrangements.




The Emergency Management Risk, Preparedness and Capability branch directly supports the Emergency Management Commissioner's legislated responsibilities regarding emergency management planning, risk, and Victoria's critical infrastructure arrangements.
It also coordinates training and development programs to enhance sector-wide emergency management capability and manages the Victorian Emergency Management Institute and the state's Aviation arrangements.
The teams work collaboratively with regional and state emergency management stakeholders to ensure whole-of-sector preparedness and accountability - including delivering the Victorian Annual Preparedness Program and other strategic whole-of-sector initiatives.
About the Role
Some of your duties will include:
* Manage and maintain workplace culture and practices that achieve EMVs strategic objectives.
* Provide advice to the Lead Planning Officer and Program Manager, EM Planning on communications and engagement strategies in respect to emergency management planning.
* Support the management of communications and engagement aspects of EM planning.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:




* Experience in managing complex stakeholder and associated communication needs in a complex, contested a public sector environment.
* Knowledge of Victoria's emergency management arrangements.
Qualifications/requirements
* A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
