About the role:
Melville Cares is growing, and as a result, we are seeking a part time Work Health & Safety Officer to join our People & Culture Team.
Reporting to our People & Culture Manager, you'll be the go-to person for general Work Health and Safety matters, including:

Coordinating WHS audits and regulatory reviews, then putting the recommendations into practice.
Maintaining our incident and hazard registers, records and safety documentation.
Making sure incidents and hazards get reported and investigated properly and promptly.
Coordinating building safety at our sites: fire inspections, emergency evacuations,

and test and tag, working alongside our WHS Representatives.
Checking that PPE requirements are identified, documented and actually available to the people who need them.
What you'll bring
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or equivalent.
Experience in a similar WHS role.
Working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management practice.
Experience with WHS audits and compliance reviews.
Experience with incident and hazard management.
Confident written and verbal communication, and the organisational skills to keep several things moving at once.
The ability to build genuine working relationships across an organisation.
Everyday competence with Microsoft Office.
National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old) — this is mandatory for the role.
Current C Class Drivers Licence.
Why You'll Enjoy Working Here
Meaningful work in a values-based organisation.
Salary packaging perks on top of your base salary.
Flexibility with start/finish times and days worked, including school-hour arrangements.
Melville Cares values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer.
We encourage applicants from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including Indigenous peoples, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those with disabilities, to apply.
