About the role
Commencing February , we are advertising for a 12‐month appointment as Advanced Training Registrar in Community Paediatrics at our Pakenham Hub.
A six‐month appointment may also be considered for the right applicant.
The position provides responsibility, independence and flexibility for paediatric training while gaining experience and expertise in community child health.
The ATR will be exposed to the full range of outpatient paediatric conditions with a strong focus on developmental and behavioural paediatrics.
The role involves working with referrals from GPs for children with complex behavioural and developmental needs, including developmental delay, learning difficulties, ADHD, ASD, continence issues, sleep disorders, growth concerns, and chronic medical conditions.
The clinic is supervised by a consultant paediatrician and functions as part of a multidisciplinary community health team, involving case conferencing, liaison with schools, childcare centres, early intervention workers and child protection agencies.
Supervision includes weekly meetings,



performance appraisal and completion of college‐based requirements as needed.
The ATR is expected to develop confidence to undertake an outpatient role in general paediatrics at a consultant level after 12 months in the position.
About You
To ensure success in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Appropriate health skilled tertiary qualifications
Fellowship or equivalent
Working with Children certificate
Mandatory requirements of the role:
Current driver's licence
Australian working rights
