Job Description
This is a unique and specialised role within our broader nursing team, focused on supporting the Breast Imaging service and procedures undertaken in our department.
It is not a standard nursing position; we are looking for a candidate with strong clinical capability and keen interest in breast care and imaging.
We value prior experience as a breast care nurse or in a similar clinical setting.
Role Overview
In this role, you will work closely with Breast Radiologists and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate and support breast imaging procedures, ensuring a seamless and compassionate patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Communicating and liaising closely with Breast Radiologists regarding all breast procedures
Coordinating patient imaging schedules and managing bookings for breast imaging procedures
Ensuring all pre-booking checklists are completed accurately
Acting as a key point of contact for patients and clinical staff throughout the imaging process
Managing patient recalls where required and following up abnormal results
Obtaining relevant external imaging for procedures and uploading to PACS for Radiologist review where possible
What We're Looking For
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
Previous clinical experience (hospital or clinic setting essential)
Solid organisational and coordination skills
Excellent communication and patient care abilities
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Experience as a breast care nurse or in women's health (highly regarded)
