About the role

We have 2 positions available 1 x Short Order Cook and 1 x Barista/Café Allrounder to join the team at Bantr Cafe in Palm Beach, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst being part of a dynamic hospitality team. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional food preparation and café service, working across both the kitchen and front-of-house operations to ensure our guests receive a memorable experience every visit.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and cooking a variety of short order meals and light dishes to the highest standard, ensuring consistency and quality with every plate

2. Operating espresso machines and preparing specialty coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and other café drinks

3. Taking customer orders and providing friendly, efficient service in both the kitchen and café areas

4. Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment in line with food safety and health regulations

5. Managing food stock rotation and informing management when supplies need replenishing

6. Collaborating with team members to manage peak service times and ensure timely delivery of orders

7. Presenting food and beverages professionally and responding to customer feedback positively

8. Operating the point-of-sale system and handling cash transactions accurately

9. Assisting with general café duties including table preparation, clearing, and cleaning

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a short order cook or in a similar fast-paced kitchen environment

2. Barista certification or demonstrated experience preparing speciality coffee beverages

3. Strong understanding of food safety,



hygiene standards and food handling practices

4. Ability to work efficiently during busy periods and maintain quality under pressure

5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills

6. Flexibility and willingness to work across multiple roles within the café

7. Attention to detail and commitment to presentation standards

8. Experience with point-of-sale systems is advantageous

9. A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service
