Direct Connect Electrical & Air is seeking an experienced HVAC&R; Technician to join our growing Perth-based team.

About the Role

This role is heavily focused on service, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across domestic, commercial, government and industrial sites.

Our HVAC division works alongside our electrical team, giving our technicians exposure to a broader range of systems, controls and technical work than a standard air-conditioning role.

The position offers a strong mix of planned maintenance, breakdowns, repairs, upgrades and replacement works, with stable hours and a reliable pipeline of work throughout the year.

No two days are the same.

One day you may be diagnosing a VRV fault at a commercial property. The next could involve servicing equipment at a government facility, repairing a cool room, replacing a failed compressor or investigating a control issue.

This is an ideal role for a technician who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in repairing systems properly.

- Ducted and Non-ducted split systems
- Package units
- VRV and VRF systems
- Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Fujitsu and LG equipment
- Evaporative air-conditioning systems




- Exhaust and ventilation systems
- Air-handling units
- Commercial refrigeration equipment
- Cool rooms and freezer rooms
- Display fridges
- Electrical controls and associated fault-finding

The role is service-heavy, with a strong focus on diagnostics, maintenance and repair rather than repetitive installation work.

Dual‑Trade Opportunity

This creates a pathway to become dual-trade qualified in both refrigeration and electrical.

Required Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A minimum of two years’ experience in HVAC service, maintenance and repairs
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working across a broad range of HVAC systems
- Experience with commercial, government or industrial sites
- A current ARCtick refrigerant handling licence
- Working at heights ticket
- A current Australian driver’s licence (Manual preferred)
- The ability to work independently
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Accurate job notes, photos and service documentation
- A strong understanding of workplace safety and compliance
- The ability to assist or mentor junior technicians when required

BMS or control systems experience is welcomed but not essential, provided you are willing to learn and develop.
