Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation (Laynha) is seeking multiple motivated Wellbeing Engagement Mentees to join our Wellbeing Hub team.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting community members to access services, build confidence with digital platforms, and strengthen connections to wellbeing supports. If you enjoy working with people, travelling to homelands, and making a practical difference in community, we’d love to hear from you.

This is an Identified Position. Applications are sought from people who identify as Yolŋu. The primary purpose of this position is to work directly with Yolŋu individuals, families, Elders, and communities in a culturally specific context. Success in the role requires established relationships within Yolŋu communities, an understanding of Yolŋu law and culture, kinship systems, local protocols, and, where applicable, proficiency in Yolŋu Matha. These are inherent requirements of the position and cannot reasonably be acquired through training alone.

About Us

Laynha is a not-for-profit organisation supporting 30 homeland communities across East Arnhem Land for more than 40 years. We deliver essential services including healthcare, aged care, housing, community services, and land and sea management.

About the Program

The Wellbeing Hub provides practical, culturally safe support services to community members across East Arnhem Land. Through outreach, referrals, and community engagement, the program helps individuals and families connect with services that support financial wellbeing, social wellbeing, and everyday needs. A key part of the program is the WUNA ID platform, which supports community members to access and manage services more easily.

About the Role

As a Wellbeing Engagement Mentee , you will:





- Travel to homelands to support community members to onboard and use the WUNA ID platform
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and practical support to access financial and social wellbeing services
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Yolŋu clients, families, and community members
- Support referrals and connections to Wellbeing Hub services and other supports
- Record outreach activities and maintain accurate client engagement records
- Work alongside Wellbeing Hub staff to deliver integrated and holistic support services
- Provide practical outreach support during ceremonies and community events as required
- Participate in community engagement activities to strengthen trust and service accessibility

- A strong communicator who can build trust and positive relationships in community
- Culturally respectful, empathetic, and community-minded
- Versatile, reliable, and able to adapt to changing community needsCommitted to confidentiality, professionalism, and respectful service delivery

Skills and Requirements

- Experience working with Aboriginal communities, preferably Yolŋu communities
- Confidence using digital platforms and supporting others to learn new systems
- Ability to travel regularly to remote homelands and work independently
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overnight stays in homelands when required
- Current Open Driver’s Licence
- NT Ochre Card (or ability to obtain)
