Registered Nurse - Primary Health (Full‐Time & Part‐Time)

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training. In December 2024, we commenced providing health, mental health and wellbeing services across the on‐shore Immigration Detention network.

Our team, which includes nurses, general practitioners and allied health professionals, offers a wide range of healthcare services to detainees, such as triaging, medication, wound management, immunisation and other clinical procedures. HCA also introduced a Virtual Care Centre (VCC), a 24/7 remote healthcare service that enhances onsite care for detainees.

Employment Type: Part‐time and full‐time positions available.

Compensation: Above award hourly rates, plus applicable penalty rates.

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team dedicated to delivering person‐centred, high‐quality and safe care. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, planning, implementing and evaluating care to improve the health outcomes and overall wellbeing of individuals in detention.

You will perform a broad range of clinical responsibilities including immunisations, blood collection, wound care, health assessments, care planning, medication administration and health promotion and education.

Qualifications:

- AHPRA registered nurse (General unrestricted registration).
- At least five years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, including hands‐on patient care in an operational setting (non‐telehealth).
- Strong ability to prioritise tasks, work independently and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking and sound decision‐making abilities.
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing circumstances and meet evolving needs of detainees.
