THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a senior market leadership role for an aviation professional who wants to shape the direction of Mott MacDonald's presence in one of Australia's most active and evolving infrastructure markets. As Aviation Market Lead, you will drive growth, deepen client relationships and play a central role in delivering Mott MacDonald's Australian aviation strategy. This role is an integral member of the national Aviation Leadership Team alongside the ANZ Aviation Lead and Buildings Market Leadership Team.

The role combines deep market knowledge with strong client engagement, business development and project delivery capability. You will be the person airport operators, government agencies and aviation stakeholders want to call; a trusted advisor who understands the commercial, operational and passenger experience dimensions of the market, and who brings Mott MacDonald's full capability to bear on solving the problems that matter most to clients.

This is not a siloed role. You will work within an established governance framework and champion a 'One Mott MacDonald' approach, coordinating with the national leadership team, sharing intelligence and opportunity pipelines, and ensuring that client engagement is consistent, strategic and aligned across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

Market Leadership & Strategy

Support the development and implementation of Mott MacDonald's Australian aviation growth strategy, identifying emerging opportunities across airport operators, government agencies, airlines and aviation-related infrastructure clientsDevelop and maintain aviation market intelligence,



client account plans and growth initiatives that keep Mott MacDonald ahead of where the market is headingPromote Mott MacDonald's aviation capabilities through industry engagement, conferences and key client forumsCollaborate with regional and global aviation leaders to leverage expertise, resources and international best practice

Client Relationship Management

Establish and maintain strong executive and operational relationships with airport operators, aviation stakeholders and government agencies across AustraliaAct as a trusted advisor on airport operations, infrastructure planning and capital investment programmes; the person clients want in the room for the key conversationsDevelop long-term client engagement plans that create repeat business, deepen partnerships and expand the scope of services Mott MacDonald deliversCoordinate all strategic client engagement with the ANZ Aviation Lead and Market Leadership Team to ensure a consistent, high-value approach

Winning Work

Lead strategic pursuits, capture planning and opportunity conversion across the aviation marketOversee and contribute to major proposals, interviews and client presentations, developing compelling value propositions that respond to client operational, commercial and passenger experience objectivesSupport achievement of aviation revenue, pipeline and work-winning targetsFacilitate collaboration across disciplines and markets to secure integrated, multi-service opportunities

Project Delivery

Act as Project Principal, Client Director or Project Director on strategically important aviation commissions, providing leadership and oversight across planning, design and delivery phasesEnsure projects achieve client objectives, programme outcomes and financial performance targetsChampion quality, risk management, safety and technical excellence across all aviation project work

Technical Leadership & Team Development

Provide strategic advice on airport operations, passenger experience and aviation infrastructure development across landside, terminal, airside and airport precinct environmentsMentor and develop aviation professionals across Australia,

ABOUT YOU

You are a recognised aviation market professional with deep knowledge of how airports operate, plan and invest with the client relationships and project delivery track record to match. You understand the commercial, operational and passenger experience pressures driving Australia's airport market, and you know how to position a consultancy to win and grow in that environment.

You'll Bring

Deep understanding of airport operations across both landside and airside environments, with strong appreciation of passenger experience drivers and their influence on planning and performanceProven experience delivering airport infrastructure projects valued in excess of $50M, with a strong grasp of project governance, procurement and delivery within live operational environmentsA demonstrated ability to build, maintain and grow strategic client relationships that generate repeat business and long-term partnershipsExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex stakeholder environments at a senior levelStrong communication, influencing and negotiation skills; commercially astute, credible with senior clients and able to bring people with youA degree qualification in Engineering, Architecture or a related built-environment discipline; chartered or professionally registered status highly regardedExperience working directly for an airport operator, airline or aviation consultancy, and established relationships within the Australian aviation market, are both advantageous
