We have a temporary full time appointment available August 2026 to 18 December 2028, with the possibility of permanency in the future.

About the role
Our Training Strategy & Development Branch responds to the current and emerging training needs of industry and the community ensuring training is relevant, future-focused and aligned to evolving needs, including national and state priorities. Our work helps to create positive and inclusive student experiences that lead to successful student outcomes.

The Manager VET Workforce and Special Policy Initiatives plays a pivotal role in leading coordination and delivery of key workforce reform programs and targeted policy initiatives enhancing student success and progression. The role drives high-quality project governance, evidence collection and evaluation participation to support achievement of State and Commonwealth objectives to strengthen the VET workforce and improve outcomes for learners and staff.

To be successful in this role you will have project management expertise with experience leading multi stakeholder projects in a government, education or community setting and strong analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to interpret data, prepare milestone reports and meet compliance requirements. You will also have a high level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate across diverse groups.

To be considered eligible for employment, you must possess current and valid Australian work rights, such as Australian citizenship, permanent residency or an appropriate working visa. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

You must also hold, or have the ability to obtain,



a Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and a Working with Children (WWC) Card. Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of any mandatory pre-employment screening requirements.
