Role Overview The University of Melbourne invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Mathematical Physics within the School of Mathematics and Statistics. This is a continuing, full‑time position with salary level B (AUD 124,656–148,023) or level C (AUD 152,695–176,065) per annum plus 17% superannuation.

Key Responsibilities - Conduct independent, high‑quality research and disseminate results in leading outlets.

- Seek and secure external research funding and supervise MSc and PhD students.
- Prepare, deliver, and assess undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, including curriculum development and effective use of modern technologies.
- Provide academic mentoring, oversee coursework programmes, and lead education for diverse student groups.
- Provide leadership and service to the school, university, and discipline.

Qualifications - PhD or equivalent research higher degree in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline.

- Demonstrated research excellence with strong publications and an emerging or established international reputation.
- Capacity to strengthen the school’s research and education activities and broaden existing thematic strengths.




- Strong track record of building productive research collaborations and attracting competitive funding.
- Evidence of ability to design and teach undergraduate and postgraduate subjects.
