We are currently seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team at our Ingleburn manufacturing facility. Applicants holding both Mechanical Fitting and Electrical trade qualifications (Dual Trade) are strongly encouraged to apply and will be highly regarded.
This is a permanent full time day shift position, working Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. We offer highly competitive hourly rates, with remuneration reflective of your skills, qualifications and experience, including additional recognition for dual trade capability. Overtime opportunities are also available.

About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our manufacturing and packaging equipment. Working in a fast-paced FMCG environment, you will be responsible for preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement across production equipment and site services.
We're looking for someone who enjoys finding permanent solutions—not just fixing breakdowns. You'll work closely with Production, the Maintenance Planner and the wider Engineering team to improve equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support operational excellence.
For suitably qualified applicants, there will be opportunities to utilise both mechanical and electrical skills to support plant reliability and improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults, with electrical fault finding and repairs where appropriately qualified.
- Carry out planned maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Install, modify and commission plant and machinery.
- Perform mechanical fitting, fabrication and welding activities.
- Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Assist with electrical fault finding, repairs and commissioning (Dual Trade preferred).
- Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Planner and Production teams to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to production.
- Liaise with the Maintenance Planner to coordinate planned maintenance activities and the procurement of parts and materials.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure all work is completed safely.
- Maintain workshop equipment, tools and a high standard of housekeeping.
- Assist with the maintenance of site services, including boilers, compressors, cooling towers and other utilities.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with food safety, quality and site procedures.
What will you bring to the role:
- Essential
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting.
- Minimum 3 years' maintenance experience within an FMCG, food manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
- Robust mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience maintaining pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, SQF and food manufacturing quality systems.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and housekeeping.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production, engineering and contractors.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and equipment reliability.
Highly Regarded
- Dual Trade qualification (Mechanical Fitter & Electrician).
- Current NSW Electrical Licence.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery, VSDs, servo systems,
sensors and industrial control systems.
- Experience with multi-head weighers, packaging equipment and conveyors.
- Experience maintaining boilers, steam systems, compressors, cooling towers and site utilities.
- Forklift Licence.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications.
- Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as MEX.
