Position Overview

Lead a vital service that supports patient care, funding, service planning, and clinical research as the Coding and Research Support Manager at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. Provide leadership and management to the Clinical Information Department's coding team, ensuring high‑quality clinical coding outcomes and timely achievement of organisational deadlines. Support research activities by assisting clinicians and researchers with data extraction and reporting from information systems, including EDWARD, Discern Analytics, and the Patient Administration System (PAS).

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the coding team to achieve high‑quality clinical coding outcomes and meet organisational deadlines.
- Support research activities by extracting and reporting data from EDWARD, Discern Analytics, and PAS.
- Implement coding quality activities and maintain compliance with ICD‑10‑AM standards.
- Maintain working knowledge of hospital information systems such as PAS, eMR, Solventum Code Finder, and EDWARD.
- Organise, prioritise, and manage competing deadlines to deliver timely coding and research support services.

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management or equivalent, with extensive experience in clinical coding using ICD‑10‑AM.




- Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of computerized hospital systems including PAS, eMR, Code Finder, and EDWARD.
- Experience implementing coding quality activities.
- Possession of an Australian C‑Class driver's licence (including P1 or P2). If holding a licence from a state other than NSW, obtain a NSW C‑Class licence within three months of appointment; learner's licences are not permitted.
