Workplace Health and Safety Officer

We regularly have opportunities in the Brisbane & SEQ Regions for a Workplace Health and Safety Officer with Road Infrastructure experience. The role is for approximately 2 years with a possibility of extensions and other projects.

Responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

- Assist in the preparation & implementation of health and safety plans
- Complete risk assessments, audits, task observations and safety investigations
- Complete and maintain any documentation required on the project as per the Federal Safety Accreditation and ISO Accreditation requirements
- Ensure relevant legislation is adhered to
- Provide training and support to the team members
- Manage and develop relationships with employees and stakeholders

Essential skills required undertaking this role:





- Must have a minimum 5 years’ WH&S; experience on TMR road infrastructure projects & conducted related Audits.
- Strong understanding of latest OH&S; legislation
- Experience working on road construction projects in the rural setting
- Time management and task prioritisation capabilities, with an ability to meet deadlines and manage pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Qualified in OHS

Hours are 36-45 per week, however longer hours & weekend work may be required to suit workload.

You must have: the right to work in Australia, with well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills and a current drivers licence.
