We are seeking a passionate and community-focused Community Education Counsellor (Identified) to join our school community. In this rewarding role, you will provide educational counselling, cultural guidance and practical support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and their families, helping to build strong connections between home, school and community.

About The Role





- Provide educational counselling and support services within schools to ensure that the best possible assistance services are available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families and communities.
- Provide cross cultural awareness training to the broader school community.

Responsibilities

- Provide educational counselling and wellbeing support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
- Work collaboratively with students, families, school staff and community organisations to improve engagement and educational outcomes.
- Develop and deliver programs that encourage participation in education.
- Promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across the school community.
- Provide cultural advice and guidance to school leaders and staff.
- Deliver cross-cultural awareness training and help build culturally safe and inclusive learning environments.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with community services and support networks.
- Hold a current paid Working with Children Blue Card.
