The opportunity
As a Senior Payroll Consultant you’ll play a key role in implementing our growth strategy and provide a range of payroll services to our clients. You will offer advisory services on payroll matters in a client-facing role, establishing, improving, and implementing recent procedures and processes while building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This is a hybrid position based in Warrang – Sydney, with the option to work flexibly with reduced hours – please discuss potential arrangements with us.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead payroll validation and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity, stay current with legislative changes, and deliver induction and ad‑hoc training updates.
- Establish consistent payroll procedures across diverse employee groups, drive continuous improvements by identifying gaps, implementing new processes, and communicating changes effectively to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with offshore teams for seamless service delivery, generate and analyse payroll reports (e.g., audits, STP2), track KPIs such as accuracy and compliance, and contribute to scalable payroll solutions across multiple projects and clients, including global meetings outside standard hours.
Skills And Attributes For Success
- Extensive experience in high‑volume, full‑function payroll operations, strong proficiency in SAP and other payroll software, large‑scale ERP systems, and intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership in payroll teams and successful involvement in payroll implementation projects, supported by sound numeracy, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- While formal payroll certification is advantageous,
a broad and adaptable skill set across varied systems and processes is required to manage complex payroll environments.
