What’sthe role?

As a Senior Credit Manager,you’llplayan important rolein helping Westpac make well-informed credit decisions for commercial banking customers across Australia.You’llwork independently from relationship management teams, bringing clear judgement, commercialthinkingand a strong understanding of credit risk to each transaction.

You’llreview and approve credit applications within your delegated authority, support more complex transactions that require higher-level approval, and help ensure decisions arewell researched, balanced and aligned to Westpac’s credit standards, riskappetiteand regulatory requirements.You’llalso keep a close eye on portfolio quality,providepractical credit risk guidance to business and support teams, and help senior stakeholders stay informed about material risks, emergingissuesand key transactions.

Work type and location

Flexible, permanent, full-time role based in NSW.

What do I need?

You’llbring sound credit judgement, strong commercialthinkingand the confidence to make balanced decisions in a fast-paced banking environment.

- Strong experience assessing and approving commercial credit transactions.
- A good understanding of credit risk, underwriting standards, riskappetiteand regulatory expectations.
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to balance customer needs, businessoutcomesand sound risk management.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret financial information andidentifyemerging risks.




- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability toprovidepractical advice and explain credit decisions to stakeholders.
