This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist Psychiatrist with an interest or expertise in forensic psychiatry to provide specialist inpatient and community forensic mental health services while working within a supportive and progressive health service.

About the Role As a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Forensic Psychiatry) , you will provide expert forensic psychiatric assessment, treatment and clinical leadership across inpatient and community settings within Mental Health and Specialist Services.
Working Within a Collaborative Multidisciplinary Team, You Will
- Deliver specialist forensic psychiatry services across inpatient and community programs
- Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management of patients
- Contribute to the delivery of secure, evidence-based and patient-centred care
- Support teaching, supervision and mentoring of junior medical staff and trainees
- Participate in service development, quality improvement and clinical governance activities
- Contribute to a culture of medical education, research and continuous improvement
- Participate in the Mental Health and Specialist Services after-hours and on-call roster
About You You are a Specialist Psychiatrist with strong clinical skills, a collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality forensic mental health care. To Be Successful, You Will Have
- MBBS or equivalent qualification eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or an equivalent qualification recognised by RANZCP
- Specialist registration, or eligibility for specialist registration, with AHPRA
- Strong clinical experience in psychiatry, with forensic psychiatry experience highly regarded
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, supervision and multidisciplinary teamwork
- Excellent communication, leadership and clinical decision-making skills
Desirable
- Certificate of Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry (RANZCP)
- Strong teaching and clinical experience in forensic psychiatry

Additional Requirements The Successful Applicant Will Be Required To
- Meet Queensland Health vaccination and pre-employment screening requirements
- Complete tuberculosis screening
- Declare any serious disciplinary history
- Provide certified copies of relevant qualifications and registration prior to commencement
- International applicants may require a satisfactory Specialist Comparability Assessment through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists as part of the application process
