Senior Financial Accountant | $60-64 hourly + Super | Immediate Start | Sydney Olympic Park
The Company & Role
An chance has arisen for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a well-established global infrastructure business. In this critical role, you will take ownership of key corporate accounting activities across the ANZ business, ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting, and effective stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing month-end close activities including journals, accruals, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Leading treasury activities including daily cash management, cash flow forecasting and liquidity reporting
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving accounting issues in a timely manner
- Overseeing payroll accounting, provisions and employee-related accounting entries
- Managing lease accounting in accordance with IFRS16/AASB16 requirements
- Partnering with corporate cost centre managers across Finance, HR, Legal and other functions to manage spend, accruals and forecasts
- Reviewing AP payment runs and maintaining appropriate financial controls
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting activities
- Preparing audit deliverables and assisting with statutory compliance requirements
- Driving process improvement and automation initiatives across the finance function
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- 8+ years' experience in Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting or Group Reporting roles
- Experience within medium to large-scale organisations ($300M+ revenue preferred)
- Strong SAP experience (essential)
- Strong understanding of balance sheet management, month-end processes, statutory reporting and financial controls
- Previous exposure to treasury, cash flow forecasting and lease accounting
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work autonomously
