We’re looking for passionate and motivated young leaders to join our Tasmanian Division Council.

The Division

Council is a governance structure of the Tasmanian Division of the Australian Red Cross.

The Youth

Representative will give young people the opportunity to actively shape the future of the Australian Red Cross in the state.

As a councillor, you'll help drive youth engagement initiatives, lead and support youth-focused activities, influence key decisions, and ensure the voices, ideas and experiences of young people are represented across the state.

Lead and contribute to youth-focused projects, events, and campaigns

What does the role involve?

As a division councillor, you’ll take on an active role in shaping youth engagement across Red Cross.

Your responsibilities may include

Contributing to the planning, design, and delivery of youth initiatives, campaigns, and events

Providing advice and insights to the Division Chair and senior staff on youth perspectives





Representing Red Cross and assisting with key Red Cross events such as World Red Cross Red Crescent Day, ANZAC Day, etc.

Collaborating with councillors, members, staff and volunteers across other states and territories

Providing guidance and support to Red Cross University clubs and societies

Researching key issues and contributing to reports and recommendations

Tracking progress and delivering updates on projects and initiatives

What skills and qualities are we looking for?

Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders

Leadership potential and willingness to contribute to governance discussions

Ability to manage commitments and work both independently and in a team

Interest or experience in project or event coordination

Passion for humanitarian work and making a difference

Understanding of or interest in Australian Red Cross (desirable)

Hold or obtain a Working With Vulnerable People check (support provided)
