AboutSimpson Health Centre

Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD). Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre. The Army base services approximately 6000 Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7. The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).This role is full time Monday to Friday (day shift)



within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

What you’ll do

- Deliver high-qualitymental healthcare to Defence members
- Conductingfitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
- Undertaking assessments,interventions,managing medications,formulating treatment and care plansfor individuals and groupeducation sessions
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentwhere patientwellness is paramount

What you bring

- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as aRegistered Nurse
- One of the following:
- ACMHNcredentialed
- Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
- Mental Health trained nurse /UKtrained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
- Minimum two years’PostRN general registrationexperiencewithinlast five yearsinmental health withinaPrimary HealthcareSettingor Specialist Mental Health Setting
- Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ asperMedicare Schedule
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
- Australian CitizenshiprequiredtoobtainBaseline Security Clearance
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
