About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced, Trade Qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to take on a hands-on Workshop Manager role at our Maryborough workshop.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic who enjoys leading a team while remaining actively involved on the tools. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standard while supporting a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.

Our diverse fleet includes light vehicles, trucks, loaders, forklifts, harvesters, and skidders.

What You'll Be Doing

- Carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, testing, and breakdowns across our fleet.
- Managing the day-to-day workflow, ordering and scheduling of the workshop.
- Prioritising jobs to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime.
- Supervising workshop operations to ensure quality workmanship and safe work practices.
- Leading, mentoring,



and supporting our on-site apprentice and workshop team.
- Maintaining service records, parts inventory, and workshop documentation.
- Working closely with management to plan preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

- Relevant Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic trade qualification.
- Proven ability to quickly diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Demonstrated experience attending remote field and bush breakdowns, with the ability to safely diagnose and carry out repairs in challenging environments with minimal support.
- Previous workshop leadership, leading hand, or management experience is highly regarded.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Practical approach to problem solving with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and lead by example.
- Experience mentoring apprentices and developing team members.
- MR Licence or higher preferred.
