Several opportunities for Registrar’s to join the Neurosurgery team at Royal Darwin Hospital starting in February 2027.
Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital is the principle tertiary hospital within the region and provides a broad range of referral services in all specialist areas to Darwin, the Top End of the NT, Western Australia and South-East Asia.
Currently, the Royal Darwin Hospital is inviting Unaccredited Neurosurgery Registrars to apply for a 12-month training program starting in February 2027.
Under the direction of Dr. Ameya Kamat a renowned Neurosurgeon specialising in endoscopic spinal surgery and surgical treatments, you will further develop your clinical skills and ability to provide high quality neurosurgical services to patients referred by the Hospital’s Emergency Department and undertake consult for inpatients.
- Your key duties will involve the admission, management and discharge of patients from the service under the supervision of neurosurgical fellows/consultants and participate in the operating theatre.
- You will also be required to participate in the Department’s 24-hr roster to ensure the proper functioning of the service.
- In addition,
you will have the opportunity to conduct research, peer review practices and Continued Medical Education, and provide supervision to junior medical staff and other clinical staff.
- 12% superannuation, six weeks recreational and three weeks personal leave, five days of professional development leave and an additional five days of examination leave if relevant
- 17.5% annual leave loading and an opportunity to further your professional development in NT Health
