About the Team

The External Engagement and Partnerships Division strengthens UTS relationships with industry, government and community to support collaboration and engagement across the university. The Industry Partnerships function is focussed on supporting faculties to identify, attract, scope and secure new partnerships, or deepen existing partnerships, to create maximum mutual value.

Job Purpose

The role works to facilitate the proactive identification, attraction, scoping and contracting of partnerships between UTS and external organisations within a defined faculty or area of coverage, within which it is embedded. It works as part of a hub-and-spoke BD model to enable faculties to maximise and realise high-quality partnership opportunities.

Role Responsibilities

- Develop knowledge of faculty capabilities and identify partnership opportunities that align with institutional priorities.
- Build and progress a pipeline of potential partnerships through research, outreach and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with academic and professional staff to scope partnerships and prepare proposals with commercial and strategic considerations.
- Lead development of agreements and contribute to negotiation and implementation planning.




- Support transition to delivery teams while maintaining ongoing partner relationships and providing escalation support.
- Maintain accurate partnership data and contribute to reporting, insights and institutional knowledge.
- Provide guidance and support to academic staff to strengthen engagement activity and partnership capability.

Skills, Attributes and Knowledge

- Ability to identify and structure partnership opportunities aligned to strategic priorities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence.
- Capability in commercial analysis, financial modelling and interpreting market trends.
- Negotiation skills and experience managing risk and agreement development.
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities.
- Understanding of university research, education and innovation environments.
- Knowledge of partnership frameworks and engagement across industry and government.

Experience

- Experience in business development, partnerships or stakeholder engagement in complex environments.
- Experience working with academic leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience outside a university setting in corporate or relevant industry sectors.
- Experience securing and managing partnerships including negotiation and implementation.

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualification and extensive experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

What We Offer

Base Salary Range: $143,080 - $149,894 (HEW9) plus 17% superannuation (pension)





The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
