Senior Estimator (Civil)

An established and highly regarded civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its growing team based in the Canterbury-Bankstown region of Sydney .

With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality public domain paving, streetscape, and civil infrastructure projects across Sydney, this business works with a diverse client base ranging from Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders to local councils, government authorities, commercial developers, and private residential clients for minor works.

As the Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre‑construction process, taking ownership of the estimating function and preparing accurate, competitive tenders for a diverse portfolio of public domain paving and civil works projects. Working closely with senior management, you will contribute directly to the continued growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions for public domain paving and civil works projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documentation.
- Complete detailed quantity take‑offs and cost analysis.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering initiatives.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors,



and suppliers throughout the tender process.
- Support successful project handovers to the delivery team.
- Maintain estimating records and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes.

About You

- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimator within civil construction, paving, roadworks, hard landscaping, or infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of public domain works, streetscapes, and associated civil construction methodologies.
- Experience preparing tenders for Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, local councils, government authorities, commercial developments, and/or private clients.
- Solid commercial acumen with the ability to accurately assess project costs and risks.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Full Australian work rights (Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen)
