Position Title: Anaesthetics & Recovery Nurse

Reporting To: Anaesthetics Nurse Unit Manager

Terms: Full Time/Part Time

Remuneration: EBA Wyvern Private Hospital

As an Anaesthetics & Recovery Nurse you'll provide excellent specialised care to patients undergoing
surgical or medical procedures requiring anaesthesia. You'll assist the anaesthetist in preparing,
administering and monitoring anaesthesia, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the
perioperative period, including recovery. We pride ourselves on working as a team: supporting one

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & SKILLS

- Using initiative and intuition to respond quickly to patient and department needs

- Assisting the anaesthetist in preparing, administering and monitoring anaesthesia

- Using anaesthetic equipment, checking and trouble-shooting the Anaesthetic machine

- Airway management skills

- Supporting patients through their initial recovery, post-operation

- Applying excellent critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills





- Having a strong attention to detail, ensuring patient safety at all times

- The ability to stay calm under pressure

- A great sense of teamwork and effective communication skills

- Supervising ENs and AINs if applicable

- Accepting accountability for own actions and seeking guidance when situation exceeds

knowledge / experience

3. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse,

Division 1 (AHPRA)

- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in an anaesthetics environment

- Valid Working with Children Check

- National Police Check

- 100-point ID check

- Full Australian Working Rights (Sponsorships not available at this stage)

- Proof of vaccinations

- Blood Safe e learning
