Job Description:

The Commercial Broker acts as a trusted intermediary between borrowers and lenders. You will be responsible for originating and structuring finance applications across commercial lending, residential lending, asset finance, and development finance. This role requires a deep understanding of credit policy, lender appetites, and deal structuring to secure optimal outcomes for clients while managing the end-to-end process from initial consultation through to settlement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Origination & Business Development

- Proactively generate new business through networking with accountants, financial planners, real estate agents, solicitors, and existing client referrals.

2. Credit Assessment & Deal Structuring

- Analyze client financials, tax returns, business performance, and security positions to determine borrowing capacity and appropriate lending structures.
- Structure complex transactions across:
- Commercial Lending: Investment property, commercial owner-occupier, debt refinancing, working capital.
- Residential Lending: Residential investment and owner-occupied home loans (where applicable under accreditation).
- Asset Finance: Vehicle finance, equipment finance, machinery, and technology funding.
- Development Finance: Construction funding, land subdivision, townhouse and apartment developments, mezzanine finance.
- Identify the most suitable lender(s) based on credit appetite, policy, turnaround time, and pricing.

3. Lender Management & Application Process

- Prepare and submit comprehensive loan applications, including accurate supporting documentation and detailed deal summaries.




- Manage the end-to-end lending process, liaising with lenders, valuers, solicitors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely approvals and settlements.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and conditions with lenders to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
- Proactively manage deal pipelines and provide regular updates to clients and referrers.

4. Compliance & Best Practice

- Ensure all activities comply with [ASIC / NCCP / relevant regulatory body] requirements, including responsible lending obligations and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
- Maintain accurate client records and deal tracking within the CRM system.
- Stay up to date with lender policy changes, credit criteria, and market trends across all finance verticals.
- Build and maintain a strong referral network to secure a consistent flow of quality deal opportunities.
- Conduct initial client consultations to understand financial position, investment strategy, and funding requirements.

Qualifications:

- Minimum [2–5] years of experience in commercial broking, credit analysis, or business banking.
- Accredited with a recognized industry body (e.g., MFAA, FBAA, or equivalent) [for Australian context] OR holds relevant lending accreditations with major banks and non-bank lenders.
- Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (or equivalent) [for Australian context]; or relevant finance/broking qualifications in your jurisdiction.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial lending, residential lending, asset finance, and development finance.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
