With our continued growth, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities available for individuals of all skill levels and interests. Whether you're experienced or looking to learn something new, there's a place for you.
You will be involved with restoring iconic aircraft like the C-47 Dakota and the North American Yale (flown by John Newell of Jack & Newell general store fame), ensuring they can be enjoyed by future generations. Whether your expertise lies in airframes, engines, or avionics, your contribution is invaluable.
Volunteers aged 15 and above can assist in various areas, including:

- Aircraft restoration to both static and airworthy condition.
- Building trades, welding, upholstery, and carpentry skills to assist with restoration projects

Training is provided for those wishing to be trained as a trade assistant(TA), so you can develop current skills while making a difference.
Even dedicating just a couple of hours a month on Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays can make a significant impact. If you're considering a working holiday, Mareeba offers an ideal location with 300 sunny days per year, situated just west of Cairns.

volunteering with FNQAM is recognised by Services Australia, allowing you to contribute to your weekly volunteer hours and get paid for being part of something meaningful.
Positions are available onsite at the FNQAM museum located at the Mareeba Airport.
