Medical Receptionist – Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice while delivering excellent patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone in a courteous and professional manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently
- Maintain accurate patient records and update personal and financial information
- Ensure appointments run on time by coordinating with healthcare providers and managing delays
- Respond to patient enquiries and direct them appropriately
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organised reception area
- File, retrieve, and manage medical records securely
- Handle billing, accounts, and general administrative duties
- Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment, arranging orders and repairs as needed
- Provide support to patients in distress or emergency situations




- Uphold strict confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Follow practice policies and procedures, contributing to continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with the team to support daily operations
