Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician - South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Service

Remuneration: $65,012.00 - $117,755.00 per annum, plus superannuation

Where you'll be working

SESLHD Mental Health Service, located at Kirk Place, Kogarah. Travel to other Mental Health Service sites and across the SESLHD will be required.

Role Requirements To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the following criteria in your application:

1. Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent Applicants race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW
2. Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and a current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

Registered

Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Psychologist with a four-year degree in psychology, being a three year degree with a fourth year honours in psychology; or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).

Aboriginal Health Worker

Holds or aspires to hold Cert III in Aboriginal Primary Health Care. Counsellor must hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

3. Demonstrated knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act 2007 and commitment to SESLHD Closing the Gap initiatives of providing accessible and responsive mental health services.
4. Demonstrated skill in consumer assessment, treatment, support, and advocacy in a Mental Health field with the ability to deliver successful outcomes that illustrate respect for cultural differences and diversity in the workplace.
5. Demonstrated effective written, computer and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently, collaboratively and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. .
6. Demonstrated commitment to a consumer focussed recovery-oriented approach and consumer collaboration in care planning.
7. Experience participating in and organising community development activities that address social and emotional health.
8.



Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
