**The opportunity**
As one of our Tech. Leads,
you will ensure the quality and effectiveness of solutions by ensuring that coding standards are followed. You will be there to mentor other developers and practice intent-based leadership. Your role is critical to maintaining GWW’s existing codebase and crafting a working environment in line with our aspirations of becoming a digital utility. You will also play a meaningful part in growing and championing architecture principles and best-practices, aligning software delivery with industry standards, and ensure software solutions have a smooth path to production.
**Responsibilities**
- **Leadership and Influence** - Lead people to understand the why and deliver great outcomes for customers and our business.
- **Project Management** - Oversee delivery plan, monitoring and adapt as needed to provide software solutions.
- **Solutions Development & Implementation** - Resource planning to design and deliver quality outcomes for sustainable ownership
- **Digital Strategy and Architecture** - Ensure that software leverages re-use and composability principles.
**Skills & Experience**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 5+ years’ software development experience with demonstrated experience in automation
- 2+ years in a Technical Lead capacity
- Experience designing and building cloud Continuous Delivery pipelines.
- Cloud environment setup and management
- Excellent understanding of automation technologies, practices, principles, frameworks and implementation methodologies
- Excellent engagement and communication skills (written/oral). Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with team members, including the ability to communicate sophisticated concepts and to obtain approvals for designs
- Experience assessing automation requests through a technical lens to provide sizing estimates and component reuse opportunities
- Experience leading remote development teams, and managing specialist / technical workforces to deliver outcomes
- Have worked in teams using Agile ways of working (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, XP)
**It is also desirable to have experience in**:
- Vendor and partner management
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Azure Pipelines
- Microsoft Azure DevOps Services
- Python, Shell, PowerShell, or Java
