Radiation Therapist Supervisor

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Radiation Therapist to take the next step into supervision, service delivery and team leadership within a progressive regional cancer service.

As Radiation Therapist Supervisor at Western Cancer Centre Dubbo, you will help lead the daily delivery of radiation oncology services, supporting protected, accurate and patient-centred treatment across simulation, planning, treatment and quality assurance.

You will supervise, guide and develop Radiation Therapists and students, while helping shape a positive, high-performing and innovative team culture.

Why this role stands out

This is not just a roster coordination role.

You will be part of the WNSWLHD District Radiation Oncology Service, working across a two-site model with teams in Dubbo and Orange. The service includes approximately 12 Radiation Therapists in Dubbo and 20 in Orange, giving you the chance to contribute to both local leadership and broader district-wide service delivery.

You will work closely with the Chief Radiation Therapist for WNSWLHD and the Deputy Chief Radiation Therapists at Western Cancer Centre Dubbo, with strong senior support around you.

The team is diverse, progressive and evidence-based, working within a sub-specialist Radiation Oncologist model of care.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

- Support the daily delivery of radiation therapy services in Dubbo

- Supervise and mentor Radiation Therapists and students

- Coordinate workload and appointments in your area of responsibility

- Contribute to safe,



accurate treatment planning and delivery

- Support quality improvement, change management and innovation

- Help build team capability, performance and career development

- Work collaboratively with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team

Work-life balance

The role operates Monday to Friday during clinical hours, generally between 7:00am and 6:00pm.

You will work a 70-hour fortnight, with a four-day working week possible by negotiation.

About you

You will be an experienced Radiation Therapist with strong clinical capability across simulation, planning, imaging and treatment delivery. You will bring confidence in supervision, education and mentoring, along with the communication skills to support patients, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues.

You will also bring:

- A Medical Radiation Science qualification or equivalent recognised by ASMIRT and AHPRA

- Current AHPRA registration

- Extensive experience in current complex radiation therapy techniques

- Strong leadership and team coordination skills

- Experience supporting education, training and mentoring

- A quality improvement mindset

- Interest in innovation, research and service development
